Jordan Deters of Sigel started Dec. 2, as a vice president of lending in the Effingham regional office. The Effingham office serves farm families and rural landowners in Clay, Cumberland, Effingham, Fayette, Jasper, Marion, and Shelby Counties.
Where did you work before starting with FCI?
I worked for Teutopolis State Bank in Sigel for seven years as a branch manager and lender before joining FCI. Even before I started here, the employees treated me like family.
Prior to joining the workforce, I received an associate’s degree in business from Lakeland College and a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Eastern Illinois University.
What does Helping Farm Families Succeed mean to you?
Growing up on my family’s Cumberland County grain and livestock farm and graduating from Teutopolis High School gave me an appreciation for the family farmer. Working with FCI to help farm families succeed and grow what their ancestors built is important to me.
If you had to pick one job on the farm to do full-time, what would it be?
The reason I love farming so much is the multitude of roles and jobs that need completed each year. I don’t think I could pick just one.
