Farm Credit Illinois announced a $100,000 donation to Feeding Illinois food banks serving the southern 60 counties of Illinois today. The funds support food banks facing unprecedented challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Twelve students were named recipients of the Tom Tracy Memorial Farm Credit Illinois Family Scholarship, administered by the Community Foundation of East Central Illinois (CFECI). Each scholar receives $3,000 towards their college education.

Rodney Byars of Geff was appointed as a director by the FCI Board to fill a Region Three vacancy. He is a corn, soybean, and wheat farmer in Wayne County

Fifty 4-H clubs and FFA chapters were awarded $500 grants to make tangible improvements in their local communities. FCI has invested nearly $160,000 in grant funds since the program’s start in 2008.

Thirty high school seniors were named FCI Agriculture Scholars, receiving $2,000 towards their college education. Since the program’s start in 2004, $516,000 of scholarships have been awarded to 389 students planning to study agriculture at a college or university.
